Located in the foothills on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, Basin Land and Cattle has backgrounded yearlings for thirty plus years. In prime cattle country, yearlings are run on grass throughout the summer months and are fed a silage, hay and grain ration throughout the winter months. Basin Land and Cattle is a fifth generation family run ranch, that takes pride in quality beef for consumers.

Our Yearlings
The yearlings are on a silage, grain and hay mix throughout the fall and winter months in the feedlot. In the spring and summer, the yearlings graze native grass. Our yearlings are growth implant, hormone and antibiotic free.

Grass finished beef is leaner than grain finished beef. Even the yearlings that are on grain during the winter months, are not fed excessive amounts for fast weight gain. Finishing the yearlings on grass has helped us create a lean and healthy beef, without the need for antibiotics or growth implants. Grass fed beef also contributes positively to the environment. Cattle use and help manage and repair the grasslands that they graze.
